1841 Census - John and Ann Whitmore
« on: Wednesday 13 July 11 22:48 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am looking for the 1841 census entry for John and Ann Whitmore.  John appears to have been born in 1791 in Blaby and Ann in 1789 in Wigston.

They were married in 1812 and had two children in Blaby, Alice and Elizabeth.  I then think they moved to the Monks Kirby area of Warwickshire where they had several more children between 1816 and 1834 including Harriet in 1829, Thomas in 1832 and Sarah in 1834.  I cannot find the family in 1841 although note John and Ann are in Blaby in 1851 without children.  Ann then dies there in 1853 and John in 1877.

Can anyone find the family in 1841 as this may just provide me with the necessary missing link!

Thanks in advance.

TB

Hi there.

Thanks for your message.

If you can give me some broad details of some of your Whitmores i will see if they fit in.  There are alot of Whitmores in the Monks Kirby area and i suspect the Blaby lot also came from that area also, prior to John and Ann.

But where is the 1841 census - how frustrating!

Hi

Its been a while since I last looked at this.

Still cannot find John and Ann Whitmore in 1841.  Can anyone please help?

John and Ann were in Blaby in 1851, where Ann died in 1853, and where John remained until his death in 1877 in Enderby.

It is possible that they could be in the Monks Kirby area as John was originally a Gatekeeper.

Can anyone spot the family in 1841??

Thanks
