Bloomfield Baptism and marriage
« on: Friday 15 July 11 16:08 BST (UK) »
Hello please can anyone help me find my gt gt grandad's Baptism as I can't find his parents anywhere. He was JAMES BLOOMFIELD  born 1826 Great Baddow. I can't find his marriage either to MARY ANN  who was born 1829 Bradwell.They were married by the 1851 census and living in West Hanningfield with a 4 year old daughter.
Very grateful for any help.

1851 HO107; Piece 323; Book 14  West Ham  Essex
Enumeration District  9  Folio 9 Page 12

This appears to be the only James Bloomfield  on 1841 born 1826 which just might fit in, but I stand to be corrected, this comes under Essex and it states all born in county

High Street

Mary 45 Beer Shop 45
William 20
Mary 18
James 15 carpenter
Samuel 9

What was James occupation on 1851

The only way to find James wife's surname is to purchase the childs birth cert if there isn't a marriage before 1851 but please bear in mind they might have married later

Here's the entry you're looking for;

Great Baddow Baptism 16th March 1828 James Blomingfield (sic) son of James and Rachel. Born 2nd February 1828. Great Baddow, Labourer.

I hope this helps.

Thanks Lousa Maud but Diblet has the right one.
Thanks Diblet, it's a complicated branch as there are so many variations on the spelling,  Blomingfield is another new one ....already hit Blomfield, Broomfield and Brownfield, I'm sure it's the same family, he was definately born in Great Baddow.Hopefully now I know it's also spelled Blomingfield  I'll get a bit further. ;D
THANK YOU both for your help, it's MUCH appreciated

I just happened to glance at the marriages in Great Baddow just before the baptism of James Bloomfield and spotted this one;

6th June 1826 James Broomfield Bach. OTP mar. Rachel Moody Spin. OTP.
Both signed with a cross. Witnesses were William Bloomfield and Sarah Wallage.

By the way, there are 2 marriage entries on Free BMD in Ipswich 1845 and 1846 with James Bloomfields possibly connected to Mary Ann's.......
