hold the originals. These are shown in italics. Most of the original registers held at the Borthwick
have been microfilmed and it is these microfilms that are consulted in the search rooms. A full list
of microfilms is available in the search rooms. This list does not include parish register transcripts
(bishops’ transcripts) or modern printed or typescript copies.
