Baptism - William OSBORN(E)
« on: Sunday 17 July 11 23:41 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find the birth/baptism of William Osborn c 1784 who gives his birthplace as Melford. Could this be Long Melford, Suffolk? Also his marriage to Lydia? about 1820-25. He moved to Sible Hedingham and had two daughters, Susan (abt 1824) and Rebecca (abt 1831). Unable to locate their baptisms in Sible Hedingham. Any help would be useful. Occupation given as a Seedsman.

Hello

I have found these baptisms for you on www.freereg.org.uk - all Sible Hedingham

William OSBORN 25 May 1817 parents William & Lydia
Thomas OSBORNE 15 Feb 1818          ditto
Rachel OSBORN  30 Apr 1820              ditto
Elizabeth OSBORN  25 May 1822         ditto
Susan OSBORN  30 May 1824              ditto

No obvious marriage in Sible Hedingham on freereg.  I have also checked the Suffolk Marriage Index 1813-37  for you no William OSBORN or similar to a Lydia during that period in Suffolk recorded on there.

Hi

There were either two William Osborne's or he was married twice. As far as I know William 1785 from Melford is my 3x Great Grandfather and married Mary Green.
