This is fantastic! I have been searching for michael worthingtons wife -Mary. I was trying to find her maiden name but no success so far- any ideas on that!? Also I was wondering how to try and find pictures of all of the people mentioned? Any further help is greatly appreciated xx

Looks like he married twice - 1838 to a Fanny, who he is with in 1851 census, and the Mary you mention in late 1850s .....

As Mort said, if you use Freebmd you can find these marriages. Just put in the groom's name and the first name of the bride, rough dates and Hampshire. It gives these results

Worthington - Ropley & Sussex

I'm researching Worthingtons of Ropley.  Michael, son of Michael & Fanny, joined the R Navy & ended up in Portsmouth.  Think he was my husband's gt grandfather.  Bit of a mystery though as to whether he was or his brother was!

One of the Worthington family, an infant, was buried with a Hoare member in a common grave in Portsmouth, too.
