1901 Census - Jones
« on: Wednesday 27 July 11 17:05 BST (UK) »
Yet another Jones lookup request  :)   I'm trying to trace my Renfrey ancestors who originated in Cornwall but a branch ended up in Aberystwyth.   In this case I'm trying to trace Emily Renfrey born 5 April 1870 in Aberystwyth.   She apparently married either Robert Jones or David Jones in 1892 in Aberystwyth (1892 June qtr, Aber dist, 11b/69).   So request lookup in 1901 census for Emily Jones in the hope that I may confirm her husband and any children.

Thank you, Dave

What was the husband's occupation?

I can only find one Emily Jones of the right age but she's married to an Evan Jones, an ironmonger - 1901 - RG13/5153/72/30.

On the census return, the name Evan has been written over the original entry but I can't read what that was.

There are no children living with the couple.

Thank you for the reply.   Unfortunately I have no further information and I was hoping that either of the Joneses mentioned would have appeared.   Thanks for trying, Dave

Thanks Haydon, yes that's the Renfreys living just outside Aberystwyth in 1871.
