Hi I have a Sophie Hannah Proctor bSep 1887 in Market Rasen Lincolnshire, On the 1891 Census for Market Rasen she is with her mother and sister staying at their grandfathers house John Brumpton b1829

I have been unable to find her in 1901 and can't find a death

Please Help

That was a possible conclusion that I had just reached.

Do we really know who her mother was in 1891, or was that just guesswork?

 ... seems a trifle early for a woman aged 20 in 1891.

I am sorry but posted the wrong name it is Sophia Hannah Procter b1897 freeBMD confirmed
the mother looks bad in the 1891 census but the dates were a bit amiss on that census.

I have altered the original post to correct it

The mother Anne Elizabeth Brumpton was born in 1862 FreeBMD confirmed and not 1870 according to that census. I have got Harriet Brumpton who had two illigitamate children and never married.

I was just guesswork in assuming on that census that Anne was the mother of the two girls but after all that I am still wondering where she went.

Yes Keyboard86 she was a widow and married a Tinker later though did not have any children with him and Harriet Proctor married my friends grandfather

Sophia Hannah Proctor was never mentioned in the family

Anne Elizabeth Brumpton married John William Proctor 1853-1899 in June 1883

It looks like we may have to get a BC for Sophia but it still does not resolve where she went to after 1891

The Mystery deepens I checked Sophia Brumpton on freeBMD with no results and just realised  something (hard at my age) ;O)

Where Sophia was is in 1901, The Yarborough Arms is where John William Proctor was a boarder and working in 1891.

Why did she change her name? she was registered as a Proctor if it is her.

I will complete this query, as after checking Sophia Brumpton on freeBMD and the 1891 census I did not get any results for her so will presume that she is indeed Sophia Hannah Proctor and was slipping beneath the radar and presumeably will never be found.
