Don't know anything about apprenticeships for stonemasons but am descended from a long line of them!

My greatgrandfather, Alexander Ferrier b in Red Castle Inverkeillor was a stone mason and married a Catherine Cant from Inverness.  Her father was James and she had about 7 siblings.

Is there the possibility of a link?

HI Anne,

Why don't you email the Dundee City Archives.  They will at least be able to tell you if there is information and where to find it.

Kia Ora, I would also like to know more about the stonemasons. My Gt Gt Grandfather William Blyth was a stonemason, probably worked in Arbroath, around that area.  Would like to know more about them.  I was also wondering if we were connected to the Blyth gypsies.  Kind regards, Waikiwi.

Hi Allan,

Looks like we might be closely related!

I recently got some information on Ferriers from a family tree on the web, and it seems we are related there too!  Also info from a recent visit to the local genealogy centre.

Will sent on the info once I have typed it up.
