New members usually need 3 posts to use PM system.

"I'm guessing that George had siblings named James and Elizabeth as they are both names used with his offspring, so it is very likely that your James and Elizabeth could be siblings of my George Seaton."
Since the Seetons seem to have been in the area for such a long time it's really not safe to assume that there's such a close connection between your George Seeton and that James and Elizabeth. One or both of you could easily end up following the wrong family, etc.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I know care needs to be taken before jumping to conclusions or as I say guessing - I do have a first name for my George so if it matches with James and Elizabeth's father's name the odd may be reduced.    I don't settle for the first possible match, I try to have at least 3 other confirmations re data before accepting it at gospel.
My George Seaton was born in 1826 and his father's name was James Seaton.

Hi Abygail

My 3rd Great Grandfather was George Seaton who I believe had a sister called Margaret Bell Seaton.  George had a daughter my 2nd Great Grandmother Ann Jane Seaton, born abt 1825.  Ann married by Great Grandfather Samuel Larmour 21 Nov 1849 Lisburn civil Registrar office.  On their marriage certificate it gives the townland of both as Derrykillultagh, Parish of Ballinderry, Lisburn.  George was deceased at the time of their marriage.

Happy New Year,

It is possible our George's were related but at present I don't have any proof either way.    My wish for Santa was a large detailed map of Ireland so I can pin point where differents ones were located.   Seems I'm too old for Santa to bring presents too. ::)
Eventually we will fit it all together.  sending you a PM please reply.

Hello all,
Here I am, 8 years on but still not really any closer to untangling my ancestry.  For those who have, like me, done their DNA  and have a match for a Alinda Maude Firth (Australia)  please make contact.

Hi there I came across this forum whilst researching the family and wondered if my info helps anyone.
I am William Seaton the youngest son of Norman Seaton who was born1911.
His father , my Grandad, was James George Seaton born 1886, died 1960's. He was the youngest of 9 children.
His father, my great grandad, was James Seeton  (later Seaton) born in 1842 in Tyrone Ireland. In 1861 he was living in Ireland with his sister Eliza, born 1834.
Later in 1861 he was living at 42 Newport Lane, Stoke On Trent in the 1861 census, aged 18 an apprentice potter.
In 1866 he married Mary Brough, born 1846, died 1900, they had 9 children ..I know of James and his sister Eliza but have no knowledge of where  the other siblings were.
Eliza married a Thomas Chatfield, born in Staffordshire who was also a potter, she died
1882.I hope this is of interest to someone,
regards Will.
