Hi,
   i have had a quick google to see if i can access Adoption records from around 1865, cant find anything, was wondering if anyone here knew where i can (if possible ) access these records

You haven't mentioned which country but if it's England there was no official adoption until the 1920s.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Adoption before 1927 was usually done on a purely friendly basis,not officially.
Often people would 'adopt' the children of someone they knew,an unmarried mum perhaps,or a neighbour who couldn't cope with anymore kids.

Thanks Carol, Not even sure if Adoption is the right line to follow, hitting a brick wall and just going to try every route possible
