Pegg Family in Hunts in 18th Century
« on: Friday 19 August 11 02:43 BST (UK) »
I have been trying to trace my Pegg line and can't seem to go any further than a marriage in Swavesey, Cambs in 1760. The Swavesey Parish Record shows no Peggs before this date. It seems William Peggs moved there to marry a local girl, Sarah Amshill in 1760. I would appreciate it if anybody knows of Peggs in nearby towns in Hunts such as St Ives, St Neots and Huntingdon. Thanks.  David

In the period 1740-1800 there are Pegg burials in Hunts in the following parishes:
St Neots 5
Eynesbury 1
Holywell 3
Bluntisham 1
Kimbolton 4
Broughton 3

Not sure how you'll prove that a William baptised in any of these parishes is the one who married in Cambs

Thanks David for the information on the frequency of burials in the Huntingdonshire parishes. It at least shows the presence of the Peggs in towns like St Neots. I'll try to find out if the parish Records are available on CD. Thanks again. Regards David.
