The alt.sp. of Waites was the key to unravelling this!
In 1881 she was transcribed (FindMyPast) as Sara Waites with a niece called Sara A Seadman who must be Sarah J Leadman who I had "lost" in 1881!

The 1871 reference to a niece called Zara Cleanor is a mystery as this person doesn't appear in my research so far. This must be another mis-transcription?

Thanks for breaking this for me.

I worked from image not transcription

"Cleanor" is a little difficult to read -but that is what it looks like - before neice there is something else written but it is so small and squashed together it is barely readable
Look slike "A???in "

will take another look

This now makes sense. The niece is Zara Eleanor Aspdin the daughter of Zara Waites' sister Jane who married William Aspdin. She was another I have been seeking in the 1871 census.

Many thanks.

Studying the image
Zara's name appears as "Zara Cleanor"  then there is a gap and part squashed into next column is "A?P?in" Neice"

After a few searches I wondered if the "A?p?in " may be a surname -although it was kind of separated from the "Cleanor"

I now think the neice is "Zara Eleanor Aspdin" her p.o.b. is given as Wakefield -but birth reg freeBMD puts it in Kent

There is this marriage

Entry 215
St John the baptist Wakefield
19 July 1877
John Westerman Pollard 24 bachelor of Back Garden St Wakefield Occ Post office Clerk father Benjamin Pollard  occ Steward

Zara Eleanor Aspdin 29 spinster of Northgate Wakefield father William Aspin  occ cement manufacturer
witneses
Edward Day & Mary Jane Aspdin

Zara gives addres same as aunt Zara  's in 1871 and Edward day -one of witnesses - could he be aunt Zara's nephew who was an Executor of her will???

Then there is this marriage

Page 65 Entry 129
Royston St John te Baptist Yks
28 Dec 1841
William Aspdin 21 Bachelor Cement manufacturer  of mont Breller father Joseph Aspdin 0cc Cement chem fact
Jane leadman 21 spinster of Barnsley father Joseph Leadman

witnesses
Jane leadman
Sarah Jessops
Thos Silverwood?

all signed

What do you think???

Just edited some of my posts -had posted "Cleator" instead of "Cleanor"

Must get a new keyboard - the letters have worn off mine!!! LOL

Thanks Suz.
All of your information is correct and includes details I didn't have.
As I am a relative novice do you mind me asking where you source your baptism  records? For instance the William Leadman born and baptised 1814 was a child I hadn't picked up. Is there a source of information I am missing? Ditto for marriages.
