Death record sought for Mary Harper, 1947
« on: Wednesday 24 August 11 22:03 BST (UK) »
Evening,

I would be most grateful if anyone could provide me with any information relating to the death of one Mary Harper, who died on the 15/04/1947. I am told her death was registered in the Bellshill area of Lanarkshire.

I am primarily trying to determine a year of birth (and obtain reference of course).

Regards

Playing around on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk (pay site),  I've found the ONLY Mary Harper who died in 1947 in Bellshill was aged 39 when she died (so born c1908).

You could obtain her death cert, which will show the names of her parents and husband.

£7 buys you 30 credits - 1 credit to see the index and another 5 credits to see her death cert.  Then use the remaining credits to find her parents (maybe!)

Happy hunting

Thanks Kate.

I am looking into it for a friend...all rather complex (She died the day after giving birth to her last child) with adoptions/births out of wedlock etc however, this is a good start, so thanks!

Not sure if I have her death record.  Will have to dig.  She passed away during child birth.  All of her children that she had with David Harper were relocated to Australia as part of an adoption program. They were sent to live with family.  The child was adopted.  The children did not move to Australia for another year after she passed away. There are shipping records of all the children departing England.  She was the daughter of John Kent who was one of 12 children.
