Ackworth Churchyard in Yorkshire
« on: Tuesday 30 August 11 06:03 BST (UK) »
Richard Stuart Adams (1790-1837) is said to have been interred in "Ackworth Churchyard" in Yorkshire (West Riding).  Is this the same place as "St. Cuthbert's Churchyard"?  There are a number of burial sites in or near Ackworth.  However, I can find no site actually called, "Ackworth Churchyard".  My source document is over 100 years old.  The name "Ackworth Churchyard" may have been the accepted name prior to 1900.

Yes, it would be St Cuthbert's.
All Saints was not erected until 1889.

Guy,
Thanks for the info!  With your help, I was able to create a new memorial and add a new cemetery/churchyard to the Find-a-Grave site.  As it turns out, there are a number of "St. Cuthbert's" already listed; but the one at Ackworth is the first ever listed for West Yorkhshire.  If interested, the link is:  http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=75723530
