Thanks for the information JJ. Sorry - this was my first posting, so will try to be a bit more precise!
I am not sure about the spelling - it is probably a bit of a red herring, but I do know that Nathan used Reading on his marriage certificate when he married Pleasant Wells in Chesham in 1886.
More importantly, the census information I have from the 1916 Prairie Census is here.

Nathan Redding age 50
Pleasant Redding his wife age 50
Florence Redding daughter age 23
Elsie Redding daughter age 21
Ralph Redding, Nathan's son appears on the same page. He is now married to Alma with the children you mention.
Ralph Redding Age 28
Alma Redding age 31
Alma B age 3
Dorothy V age 2
Nathan and Pleasant also had a daughter Sarah Kate Redding b.1890(est) who appears as Kate Redding on the 1906 Sask. Census but then no more, so would be interested to find out what happened to her.
I believe that the family remained in the same location from their arrival through to 1916. The location is Section 34 Township 34 Range 10 W3 and this is the same in 1906 and in 1916, although the name is Loganton, Sask. In 1906, and Perdue in 1916.
The people who travelled to the US were:
Nathan Redding -51
Pleasant Redding-50 (death registered 24 Jun 1949 in Victoria BC)
Florence Daisy Redding-23
Elsie Redding-21 ( m. Henry Goodliff Price, and her death is registered 26 Feb 1972 in Victoria BC)
Ralph Redding -29
Alma Redding -32
Rose Dorothy Redding -2 (m. Joseph Arthur Boyd, and her death is registered 3 Feb 1983 in Victoria BC)
Alma Brigitia -4
They travelled on 24 Dec 1916 and crossed into the US at Noyes. Could this have been a Christmas break and did they return shortly after back to Saskatchewan, or did they settle?
