i am tracking down my mother's side of the family, i have got back to Richard Stephens, no details except that he was married to Bridget and had a son named John (born in county cavan in 1826). After this point is ok but before, well asking for help.

Hi
Are you able to provide any more information regarding Richard, such as a date of birth. I have a Richard Stephens born in Cavan County in c. 1805. He was my 3rd GGF's brother. My 3rd GGF immigrated to Australia in 1840 with his new wife. His mother came out several years later (father was a convict). I have no further information on Richard after he went to Australia other than his mother's death certificate indicating he was still alive in 1873.

Not sure if one and the same but have other information on family members if so.

Hi,
Having re-read your email. John was also the name of Richard and my GGGF's eldest brother. John died when Richard was a young boy in c. 1816
