Why are there so many William Henry 's?

If I do a search on any William xxyxx there are lots of Williams with no middle names given and lots of William Henrys?

Just curious!

hi hilaryanne,

One of my ancestors is a William Henry and had the shock of my life when i went on the bmd sites and typed in William Henry and hundreds dropped down, that was for circa 1850s. Trouble is on his birth cert it says William Henry on his marrage cert he seems to have dropped the Henry. His dad was William and he called his eldest son William Henry.
One possibility is from 1830 to 1837 King William iv was the monarch so maybe he was a well liked ruler one never knows.
