PRICE & FRENCH, Eastbourne

Looking for ancestors of John PRICE, Painter, Journeyman, born 25/12/1855 and lived at 4, Poplar Row, Seaside, Eastbourne. Later at Lyric House, Denns Road. He married Emma Sarah FRENCH (born 1/10/1869) on 1/6/1884. They had 5 children one of whom was my grandmother.
The family origins have for decades been shrouded in mystery and now they have al passed on I have got curious. Can anyone help?

according to the 1891 census he was born in chelsea,london
and according to censuses 1871,1881,1891 he gives birth year as 1858-1859
if emma was born in 1869 and they married in 1884 that would make her 15 at time of marriage is that correct?
according to 1891,1901 census emma was born 1863

According to FreeBMD Emma Sarah FRENCH was born Dec qtr 1861, Eastbourne. This would fit with the Emma Sarah FRENCH aged 10 in Manns Row, Eastbourne in 1871, with parents Frederick and Emma. Frederick was a fisherman. December quarter would fit with a birthday of 1 October. Still in Mann's Row in 1881.

As you have John and Emma's marriage date, do you have the marriage certificate that name's the fathers

If John was born 25 Dec 1858, he could fit with the 2 year old John born in Chelsea in the 1861 census, at 6 Harper Place, Westminster. No father at home but his mother is Mary, a carpenter's wife age 39 born Liverpool - RG9/51/55/36

No, Ian, I don't have the Birth cert for them - I have a tree that I drew years ago but I can't for the life of me remember where I got the information. The Chelsea John seems to be 3 years out. I imagine there were a lot of John Prices around. Grat to know the origins of Emma.
Manns Row, not Denns Row? Ovbviously a transcibing error or I can't read.
