William Elliot
« on: Wednesday 07 September 11 21:55 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find the parents and grandparents and further back of William Elliot, born either March 2nd 1817 or 1820- December 17th 1897 born at, I think, Ewes or Castleton and died at Peelbraehope and buried at Ewes.  He had 2 marriages 1st to Helen Mc Vittie, 2nd to Elizabeth Little.  He did have quite a few children from both marriages.

I think the William Elliot that you are referring to, isn't thre right one.  I have since discovered that William's father is Henry Elliot, born 1790 and mother Esther Glendinning, born 1795.  I don't know if they were married or not.  I would like to know a bit more about this Henry and his parents if possible.  There is a Henry Elliot that died in Jamaica in, I think, 1818, but I don't know if this is the same one.

Ellen McVitie (William's first spouse)was born Aug 20 1821 and died June 15 1863.

Hi, I know this thread is old now but I've just found it and I wondered if you had found much information on Elizabeth Elliot, and her and David Jack's children? Their daughter, Davidina (Davina) was my great grandmother. Thanks.
