« on: Thursday 08 September 11 23:03 BST (UK) »
A big ask I know with a name like this , would there be any further info I could gather on my GGG GF Robert Jones of Holywell ( Bagillt St 1841 census  )

Hes listed as a farmer & his wife Isabella .

Would there be any directories I could follow up on?

Are yours the Robert and Isabella Jones to be found in Toxteth Liverpool in 1851?

As far as any connection, its hard to say but I also have Jones families from the area that I've made little headway with either! The IGI shows eldest son Thomas's baptism in 1837.As well as Edward showing in the 1841 Census there were also baptisms for an Ann in 1841 and Robert in 1843.It maybe my eyes but I wouldn't be too definite with Robert's occupation in 1841.There is a line through it,could it possibly read Joiner?

Hi William

Yes on the 1861 census , he is indeed a Joiner in LATHOM ORMSKIRK.

Have you seen that ? In 1871 back in Liverpool again. You can only assume
it is work related that forces the re-location.

Is Robert connected to you via one of his sons ?

Thanks Andrew

Whilst I can't see any obvious connection with the sons of Robert Jones,I wouldn't rule out a connection with Robert himself.I have an "Eleanor" Jones born c 1815 who married Isaac Evans at St James Holywell. in 1836.Isaac and Eleanor are my Greatx2-Grandparents.Whilst her father is given as an Edward Jones,I only tentatively  have her the daughter of an Edward and Hannah Jones in my Tree.I'm stuck on the Edward!

Robert 1 ( Joiner )had a son called Robert in 1851 so its probably not yours.

Of course there may have been another child they called Robert .

I can only go back to 1841 with the census information for our Robert .

On the 1841 census, who is the lady living with them aged 20 ? I cant see her name clear enough on my copy & to be honest
have never looked at this detail too much .
