Uniform and Soldier Indentification (Cameron Highlanders)
« on: Saturday 10 September 11 14:45 BST (UK) »
Hi There,

I am looking to see if anyone can identify the two soldiers photos attached. Both are my great uncles who were in WW1 and serving in the Cameron Highlanders. As I only have two photos out of the 3 brothers I am trying to identify which is which?

Picture 1 I think is Noel
Rank: Serjeant
Regiment/Service: Cameron Highlanders
Unit Text: 5th Bn.
Secondary Regiment: Royal Scots
Secondary Unit Text: formerly (10693)
Date of Death: 18/10/1916
Service No: 9286
Born 1893
The second picture I think maybe Donald the oldest brother
Rank: Private
Regiment/Service: Cameron Highlanders
Unit Text: 1st Bn.
Date of Death: 18/11/1917
Service No: 7835
Born 1889

The third soldier George returned but died at home so I am thinking that's why there is no picture kept of him.
Can you help me identify which one is the seargent and which brother is the other one. I have been to the Cameron Highlanders museum and Fort George and looked on loads of websites to try to obtain their records with a photo but have been unsuccessful so far. Do you know if the National Archives would hold photos of each world War 1 soldier.
