Interestingly a John Barton Evans died on 12th Jan 1860,but administration of his estate wasn't proved until 15th February 1884

John Barton EVANS late of Liverpool in the county of Lancaster a draughtsman who died 12th Jan 1860 in LIverpool, left unadministered by Sarah Evans the widow and relict was granted at Liverpool to Thomas Newall Evans of 4 Selbourne Street Liverpool , the son and one of the next of kin.

Former grant at Liverpool May 1860.

Personal estate 74 4s 6d

I wonder why it took so long, was it because the children were so young when their dad died in 1860?

A John Barton Evans died in 1956 in Liverpool ( ;D) New South Wales Australia.

His parents are listed as John Barton and Sophia,is that the next generation, cos the NSW indexes don't give an age at death.

Carole I have read your info again and dont understand the numbers.

If you mean the RG etc numbers, then they are the census reference numbers so if you have access through any of the subscription sites you can easily find the images.

Checking the OZ BMD records ,find that John B Evans and Clara C Sellers married in Granville NSW in 1909.

Clara Cecilia EVANS died in Gosford NSW in 1969.Parents Thomas and Catherine Clara which fits with her 1887 birth registration as Clara C Sellers.
