Saw that one but not sure bacause I can't get a link to Liverpool - unless she was in transit to/from Ireland.

I just can't reconcile the two pauper boys with a father described as 'Contoller of HM Customs'. Maybe Richard was exaggerating

Hi gnu,I had found a possibility for Edward born Ireland abt 1833 in Liverpool on the 1871 census.Transcribed as 32 but when you look close up it looks like it could have been a 9.

Hannah Sheehan 50
John Sheehan 19 son
Edward Sheehan 32 boarder.

Have a look, see what you think.

I have one of Albert's brothers in Liverpool, married, so mother could have been visiting or living there. Albert's father was definitely a customs officer. But who is Hannah I have no record of a Hannah anywhere.

regards Frances

Definitely a 2, George. It has that little inner loop that the other 2s have. The 0 are small and simple.

Sheehan/variations would be fairly common in Liverpool, I'd think and the names are not unusual. Why not  call the  Fitzroy or something posh  ;D

gnu

PS - I don't think that that family is connected, Frances. You'd need to track them back through the earlier censuses.

Kent  ???

Do you have the census refs for him because I've been looking for both Edward and William and not found any suitable ones so far.
