Can anyone solve the mystery i have a birth certificate of my mother
her mother was  Janie Williams a housekeeper 3, Walsingham Place Truro
but the informant and present at the birth was Laura Jane Harvey 3, Foundry Hill Hayle Cornwall. Laura Harvey,s mother was a [ne Williams from Crowan Cornwall

A birth did not have to be registered by a parent - it could be anyone who was present at the birth.

Could LAura be her sister? You need to trace both Laura and your Janie back to see.
Was Janie married - is Williams her married name (in which case Laura might be sister in law) or maiden name?

I dont know if it was her maiden name or married name but there is no fathers name on the certificate my mother was born in 1924 and i know a
William jones Oliver born 1884 Truro
May Oliver born 1887 Truro [ne Hocking]
Gwendoline Minnie Oliver born1907 Truro
Marjorie Joyce Oliver born 1910 Truro
Ethel m Oliver born 1911 Truro
they lived there from 1911 until 1926

The olivers lived at 3, Walsingham Place Truro were Janie Williams was in 1924
I dont know if she was a housekeeper at that address or if she was related
also i looked up Laura Harveys family and can not find any connection Laura worked in a shop but lived in HAYLE about 15 miles away from TRURO
On the birth certificate it has the name of the mother but no father could she have still been married
