Martin

Thanks for posting on this.  Since I posted that original message I have found out more about my grandfather's activities in WW2 but many areas of his work are still a mystery.  So yes - I'd be interested to see whether your contacts could shed any more light.

Looks as if you might have made contact with the right people about Bletchley Park.

There was a post on the ENG-LIV list recently from someone trying to get hold of the SOE file on a relative.  TNA would not release it because of the 100 (?) year rule but they were able to prove that TNA has his date of birth wrong and he was born earlier than they thought, so had agreed to release the file.

BRISCOE - Bolton, Heaton Norris, Rochdale, Oldham, Chadderton, Blackburn
POUNDER - Middleton Tyas, Kirkbymoorside, Stokesley, Lambeth, Bolton, Newcastle on Tyne, Leeds
HAMMOND - Quebec, Laverton, Masham, Grantley
SWALES - Laverton, Masham
O'Shea - Quebec
PARRY - Caerhun, Deiniolen, ClwtyBont, Brynrefail, TalySarn, Brynrefail, Bethesda
EVANS - Llanfihangel Bryn Pabuan, Maesmynis, Dowlais, Stockton on Tees, Hartlepool, Trealaw
HARVEY - Trentham, Sheriffhales, Llanfyllin, Llanferres, Minera

That's interesting.  Bert was SIS and I thought that those files were never released.  Do you know any more about that?  He was born in 1898, so already past the 100 years.

Am still trying to find out more about Harry Tricker. As yet I seem to be up against a brick wall.
I was very interested in your post in particular Martin and was wondering if I could impose upon you to maybe ask your friends about Harry.
If its ok with you Martin, can I give you my email address?

Hi Annie Rose,

I don't know that I have any specific details about your great-uncle for the periods you mention, but I do have some diary entries where he was mentioned in France in late 1944/early 1945. Happy to share more if you're interested :)
