« on: Thursday 29 September 11 20:05 BST (UK) »
Hi,  Does anyone happen to have access to Brancepeth Cemetery Burial Records please.  I am looking for the grave of George Frederick Schellenberg, Master Butcher who died at Langley Moor in 1891.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi Carole,

Many thanks for taking the time to answer my posting.  I do have the details of Mary and Alice (mother and daughter).  Mary was the wife of George Frederick which puzzled me even further as to why they were not buried together.  I know that Mary died at Bowburn and George Frederick at Langley Moor some 17 years previously - perhaps this was the reason.

Again many thanks for trying to help, it is most appreciated.

Hi Nannawilk,

Fantastic!  Fantastic!

This has been a problem to me since I started to research my husband's family tree.  There have been many twists and turns, as the family originated in Germany, and there were name changes by some members of the family and not others, which all in all have given me a few headaches to say the least.  This piece of information is so gratefully received - I take it that the burial site is in the grounds of the church itself and not in the municipal cemetery a mile or so away. I did have a telephone conversation with someone connected to the church a few years ago, and they told me that at around that time, burials at the churchyard were halted and the municipal cemetery further up the road was being used. I am so thrilled to receive this piece of information and my quest now is to see if I can find the actual burial site.

Again many many thanks.

Hi, I'm glad it was some help.

There are three burials in Consett, Blackhill Cemetery on NBI3.  You may already have them but nothing lost if you have

Ethel Mary SCHELLENBERG, no age given, buried 6 Sep 1885
Kate Amelia SCHELLENBERG, aged 3, buried 21 Feb 1883
Lewis Andrew SCHELLENBERG, aged 8 months, buried 15 Aug 1882

Hi Nannawilk,

Thanks for taking the trouble to pass on the other Schellenberg burials, and you are right, I do have these, but still appreciate you taking the time in trying to help me.  Kate, Ethel and Lewis were three of the children of George Frederick and Mary Schellenberg, but it was  George Frederick's burial place that I hit a massive brick wall with.  Perhaps now I will be able to move forward and I am so grateful to you.  Again many thanks.
