WW1 death - David Ferguson, b Kilmarnock

I really must get his army photograph out to check on his regiment.

Just posted the photograph yesterday to find out the regiment and it was the Gordon Highlanders.
Would there be any reference to war deaths in the local Kilmarnock paper? Now looking to find out if any of the other Fergusons on the plaque in the Kilmarnock War Memorial are related.

The David born Kilmarnock , found by Junev who died 2 nd March 1916 (no17450) is also down as being in the Gordon Highlanders

Hi, Cathy. Where did you get the information from, that David Ferguson (17450), Machine Gun Corps and David Ferguson of the Gordon Highlanders, were one and the same?
I have found (17450) died of his wounds in France from a self inflicted injury.  Serious stuff here.

Do you have any information on any of the other Ferguson`s who are commemorated in the Kilmarnock War Memorial?
I am trying to find any information for brothers of David, namely James b.1889/90 in Kilmarnock and Joseph b.1896, also in Kilmarnock. I do not have anything other than this.

I now have the service record and it originally had death from self-inflicted injury (line drawn through this) but was changed by the court in May 1916 to "suicide" during "temporary insanity". This probably meant suffered from shell shock.
