I would greatly appreciate a rough date for this young lady to help me confirm who it is.

And anything you can do to bring her back to her former glory would be wonderful!

Edward Ireland was a Professional photographer in Edinburgh 1885-92. 

He also had studios elsewhere.

Unfortunately this is a scan I was sent by a cousin, but if it's too small to work with, I'll try and get a better copy.

I would expect it to have been taken in Manchester, rather than Edinburgh.

Thank you Irene and China - my "prime suspect" was born in 1852, which would make her in her late 30s here.  She looks much better here than in later years - provided I have the right woman!
