COMPLETED THANKS - Marriage lookup - Tendring Reg Dist.
« on: Thursday 13 October 11 10:58 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I have a marriage in the Mar 1/4 1913 between William D B Chapman & Victoria G Drew in the Tendring Dist.
I don't have any other info and can't narrow it down anymore , so am wondering if anyone can do a lookup to see if there any other details recorded.
There are suggestions  that Victoria's father was  in the "Indian Army as a sgt. major"
at one time and that she may have been born in India about 1880-1890.
I'm hoping that her father's name is mentioned.
Any help will be most welcome.

The only way to find out more details is to purchase the marriage certificate, this will reveal who her father was.

Hi louisa Maud,

I realise that,  but am hoping to avoid buying another certificate because of personal reasons.

Hi Louisa Maud,

That is a very useful piece of info you have found re William Chapman's baptism. I'm having a problem in finding it myself so would  you please kindly say where you got it from?

Many thanks for your help.

Hi Trish1120,

What  a tremendous  find you have come up with. A lot of it seems to tie in with
what I already have.
Am unable to find Edward Drew's death - can you lead me to it please?. Have tried Familysearch without success.

Also that is a very useful 1901 entry for Victoria Drew. I wonder what happened to her mother Amelia? Am I right in thinking that Victoria could have been an orphan and that is why she was living in Wandsworth.

Many thanks for your assistance.

Hi Alan,
Just go to www.familysearch.org
Type in Edward Drew, click any events, then type in India (with no dates)

Now after find the 1881 Census with a possible Edward Drew that is yours, I could not find one born Herts in any other Census.
The only Births c 1857-1859 I could find for a Edward Drew on FreeBMD were Reg in the London/kent area.
DREW
Sept 1857, Edward Lambert, Kensington
June 1858, Edward, Camberwell
Sept 1858, Edward Joseph, St Geo East
Dec 1859, Edward, Medway

It is possible that this was a Military Family as there are plenty of Drews born/bred/died in India that I have found.

Also when I re-entered Victoria Gladys Drew, any events, India, I found that in 1911 she was in Great Warley, Essex.
