Death Record look up, Please. COMPLETED
« on: Thursday 13 October 11 11:18 BST (UK) »
Hello,I wonder if some kind person here could look up a Death Record for me please.

Conrad Carl Bona died 20 December 1918 aged 35 years. The reference I have is... BONA, Conrad Carl,  District W. Derby,  Volume 8b, page 503.
I am trying to connect him to a family here in Scotland and the possibility that his death was war related.

Look forward, hopefully, to some answers.
Many thanks

Hi Morag

W Derby is West Derby which is mainly Liverpool, Lancashire and not Derbyshire

It is not possible to see information on a death certificate without purchasing it

Hi Morag

The death certificate would not have family details unless the informant was family. It may mention he was 'husband of' but no guarantee. I wonder if he died of Spanish Flu which killed millions in 1918-1919 including many who had survived the war. You would need to purchase the death certificate to confirm cause of death.

Do you have his marriage certificate? Hopefully that should enable you to connect to his family.

There is an entry on the Merchant Navy Seaman's list.....

Conrad Carl Bona - date & place of birth; 19th July 1884 - Glasgow
It is a shame that the entry for next of kin is left  blank.

He is also mentioned in Navy Lists, which doesn't give much information other than date of his commission.
