Rosie, I'm trying to find the landlord of the Shakespeare Inn on the corner of Dolman's Lane and Union Street I know who it was in 1871 - James Owen and would like to find out who was there in 1881

Hi Algy,

I hope that you are still a member of this list because I would really love to know more James Owen being the landlord of the Shakespeare Inn on the corner of Dolmans Lane and Union Street in 1871.

James was my GGG-grandfather and I know that he lived in Dolmans Lane in 1843 when my GG-grandfather was born. The 1871 census shows James and his family living at 12 Dolmans Lane, his occupation is listed as Boot Closer. So, I would really love to know more about his connection with the Shakespeare Inn.

Red Galah...............I do hope you are still active on here as I think we share the same GG Grandfather in Humphrey Owen born 1843. I have some pictures of him which may be of interest to you.

My great grandfather was James Alfred Owen b1880 and my grandfather was Humphrey Owen born 1909.

Hope to hear from you.
