Hi,
A Parent search on the old IGI gives the following children for Henry and Charlotte at either Casheltown or Grange.

8 Nov 1846 Henry
1 Jun 1849 Jane
8 Aug 1850 Rosey
4 May 1853 James
1857  Male child.

These are all submitted entries so should be treated withsome caution.

Hi,
The difficulty is identifying the correct person. By putting the names into the search section of the Ulster Historical Foundation with the father's name it is possible to get the year of a possible marriage.
This allows you to find a Jane Rainey, father Henry, who married John Nicholl in Grange Presbyterian Church on 2 May 1877. Because of the church name this is a possibility. I cannot locate a marriage for Henry and the marriages for Rose (1872) and James (1888) are not local to Ballymena.

Identifying the correct person or persons has been the problem in my research. I appreciate your help and information to date. I will keep trying and maybe other Rootchat members can contribute. Many thanks Borris

Just wanted to followup.  I have researched this family using DNA and have it almost all sorted out.  The DNA confirms the right relationships which are not all stated correctly in the threads on this topic.  Let me know ifyou want to connect on the findings

I approach family history queries often from local history sources ie townland and civil parish.  I found Casheltown Road Ahoghill [civil parish ], Ballymena  BT42 2PR on https://www.streetcheck.co.uk/postcode/BT42 2PR  a source I haven’t used before and investigated anyway perhaps stupidly

1825  from 1823-1837 Tithes Applotment Books based upon the index work of the Irish Genealogy Hub’s listing for each parish in Northern Ireland, which are quicker to lookup if you know the parish! The relevant original books are in the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) Belfast
Rainey, James, Jr.   Townland: Lisnafillon Year: 1825   Ahoghill    Antrim
Rainey, James, Sr.   Townland: Lisnafillon Year: 1825   Ahoghill    Antrim
Lisnafillon townland in Ahoghill civil parish is visually mapped at https://www.townlands.ie/antrim/toome-lower/ahoghill/lisnafillon/ it’s a townland one third of the way between Ahoghill village to the west and Ballymena to the west. Lisnafillon  sits along the northern side of Galgorm.

1862 Griffiths valuation the name is recorded as
Reany   Samuel  Antrim Ahoghill Lisnafillon  map ref 13c house valued ten shillings pa
Reany   Ellen      Antrim Ahoghill Lisnafillon  map ref 13d house valued five shillings pa
Reany    Robert   Antrim Ahoghill Lisnafillon  map ref 15j house valued £1 five shillings pa

at this stage I paused realizing that Grange was not anywhere in the Lisnafillon  in Griffiths maps
google has
The Grange, Antrim BT41 1PF that’s just above muckamore a little bit south of Antrim itself
http://www.raineygregg.com/15-grange-view-grange-ballymena-co-antrim-bt41-3uh
Grange Presbyterian Church 61 Taylorstown Rd, Toomebridge, Antrim BT41 3RW that’s Duneane civil parish the result below
