Hi Linda,

I think you are right with the birthplace given as Broomshill.  I too was working on Br?msith but on looking closer, it could be double L at the end which would fit Broms ill.  An H in the middle might easily have been dropped when talking.  This coupled with the entry in 1851 for an Ann with her Aunt Mary would make it highly possible. 

She may have been born in WUE but lived with her aunt for quite some time so thought that was where she was born.

but Brownshill (with an s in the middle) is just east of Stroud
Perrins - Manchester and Staffs
Honan - Manchester and Ireland
Hogg - Manchester 19 cent
Anderson - Newcastle mid 19 cent
Boullen - London then Carlisle then Manchester
Comer - Manchester and Galway
