Hi, Ive only just joined after a general google search brought you to my attention. Well... my ancestors names to my attention. Edmund Sykes was my 4th Great-Grandfather. Iím also reaserching Robert Sykes and wife Mary. Edmunds son, Fergus O Conner Sykes is my lineage and Iím researching the connection into the Chartist Movement. Fergus was named after the Chartist leader Feargus O Conner and the name travelled down the generations. I was naturally surprised to hear Robert Sykes work shop was ransacked by Chartists. Iím curious to the Sykes family involvement within the Chartist Movement. Do you have anymore information or records? Thank you so much.
