Hi Neil,

William Earl was born in Mersham, Kent in 1832 and married Sarah Ann Kirby in 1864 in East Ashford, Kent. The Earl family I have traced back to 1755.
Sarah Ann Kirby was born on 6th December 1840. I have her birth certificate.
William and Sarah Ann came to Queensland before 1866. They had a son Ephraim born 24th January 1866 in Stanwell, Qld. Ephraim Earl is the father of my grandfather. On the Qld death record for Ephraim it has his parents as William Earl and Sarah Ann Kirby.

The only thing I am missing is when they arrived and the name of the ship they arrived on. I know everything else is correct.

Thanks Pauline

Thanks Merlin,

I thought that might be the case. I am happy to give up now.

Considering that their son was born at Stanwell, I would be looking for the passenger lists to Rockhampton or Gladstone as most immigrants generally settled in the areas they disembarked especially assisted immigrants as many of them had land orders or purchases as part of their contract.

Hello Pauline,
This reply may be a bit late for your query, you may have already found the ship etc. they came out on, if not I have info. which I will recheck.  I hope you are still online (after such a long time) and are interested. Hope to hear from you.

Hello mrs. bee,

Yes I am still here and lovely to hear from you. No I did not find any further information on when and what ship William and Sarah Ann Earl arrived on. Looking at my records all I have is that they arrived between 1863 and 1865 so any further information would be very much appreciated.

Hello Pauline,
I have had these records for a long time, can't remember who sent them to me.  My ancestors were Ellen Lois BARNARD who married Patrick John O'CONNOR.  Ellen Lois was the daughter of Alfred Benjamin BARNARD and Ann Ellen EARL.
I'm pretty sure some of this info. came from a researcher.
Here goes, William and Sarah Ann sailed with Ann Ellen on the "Landsborough" from London on the 23.01.1865 and landed at Keppel Bay, Qld. on the 06.05.1865.  They were assisted migrants and had a land grant due to them at Stewarts Creek, near Stanwell, Qld. The "Landsborough" was the 49th Ship to leave England under the Qld. Land Grant Scheme.
I have more info. and copies of forms etc. if you would like them.  Just let me know and I will try and copy them and forward on.
If I am not sticking to any rules about sending copies etc please let me know .
I know it won't worry you Pauline but Rootschat may ???????
p.s. Where do you live?
