I have received quite a bit of info to digest. Thanks gnu. What is a little confusing is the step son who is listed as a John Jeffray . Is this the son of Isabella  Cowan (Jaffray) from a previous marriage ?
The similarity between Jeffray and Jaffray is a little spooky. However I do have
an old newspaper clipping from my grandmother ( Elizabeth Cowan) for a wedding between a James Findlay and an Elizabeth Jaffray. It would be very easy for the names to be misspelled.

Hi

I think that Jeffery and Jaffray seemed to be used interchangeably but they are referring  to the same family group.

I've not looked up the John - very likely to be a son of Isabella before her marriage to Adam.

I'll see if I can find anything more on him and get back to you.

Looks likea gnu is well on track on the details on the family  :)

Just wanted to comment on what a great photo you have on the three sisters. Curious on what they were were wearing. Do you know when/where the photo was taken?

If you'd like me to do any more investigations on the families, do say, as I can do a bit more tomorrow.
