Here is a transcript of the death registration for Wilfred Reed who died in Vancouver:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.2/MN5J-1LM/p1

and for his second wife:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.2/MN5F-P5Z/p1

Second marriage:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.2/MN5Y-P5Q/p4

The Form 30 for Wilfred from 1924 indicates he was single when he arrived:

There is a first marriage in Montreal for Wilfred Ewart Reed with the parents you named to Gladys Maud Pugh, daughter of Thomas and Mary Pugh (I can't quite make out Mary's maiden surname) on 22 Aug 1924. Both were listed as being teachers. Wilfred was listed as being of Indian Head, Saskatchewan. I don't see a death in BC for Gladys and, unfortunately, the Saskatchewan vital stats database only goes to 1917.

For the address of John Oliver High School, you might try the Vancouver School Board website.  John Oliver is still an important secondary school in Vancouver.

You may also wish to contact the Vancouver Public Library, through their website, to see if they can find an obituary.  They are usually willing to provide up to two obituaries free of charge.

the first marraige was unknown to me, the name of his first wife has a welsh ring to it, and he may have known her in south wales or met her thro' an ex pats society in canada.

The information on the parish entry indicates Gladys was from Aberayron, Cardiganshire, W. Wales (the entry was difficult to read but I found her on the 1901 census in Wales with her parents to confirm the location - Piece: 5151; Folio: 31; Page: 19). I found a marriage in the Free BMD for a Thomas Pugh and Mary Loyn in Aberayron in the second quarter of 1883 (vol 11b, page 65) and when comparing Mary's surname to what is written in the parish record it matches (their eldest child on the 1901 census was born about 1884).

Wilfred and Gladys definitely knew each other as they were married on the same day she arrived. Gladys' Form 30 indicates she came to Canada to be married and names her finace as W.E. Reed, Wheatville School, Crichton, Saskatchewan. The rest of the information matches up with the census and marriage entry.

was child birth a possibility for her death !

Births for that time period are protected by privacy laws in Saskatchewan. If she did die in child birth and the baby didn't survive there's no record of it as there are no other burials listed in Indian Head around 1925 with the surname Reed.
