Hi

Welcome to Rootschat!  Can you tell us a bit more?  You evidently have some information.  Do you have the baptism in Ardee?  Where did you learn that he was born in Ardee?

I might be wrong but I think I've used Ardee baptism records online?

Have you seen all the census and also looked at siblings?  One of them may have mentioned Ardee on an odd occasion?

Good luck and enjoy Rootschat!

Best wishes

Emms  :)

I can see a James McCoy in Pontiac hospital in Michigan in 1930. He is aged 63 and an inmate there. It only has born Ireland, which if they were in another country is more than likely all you will get. Some of mine also just put born scotland etc.

Ref for census is: year 1930 /  census place = Pontiac, oakland, Michigan  /  roll 1017    /  page 9B

any good?

will have a scout around and see what else I can see

oops sorry forgot to mention on the census it has he was single. Do you know if he married?

If it is him is in in the same hospital in 1920 as a patient. Both mother and father are noted as Irish. He is still single. wonder if you can get hold of hospital records over there, archives of some sort? Just a thought. Will see if I can see any more.

The poor man must have been very sick as he is a patient there still in 1900...........

Did he have a sister Rose? I have found one in 1870 where a James McCoy is living with his sister Rose Begley and her family. Only 2 of her children with her if it is them. No husband for her on this one. It has he was born Ireland and the census date is 1925. they are in Kansas ...................
