« on: Thursday 10 November 11 00:49 GMT (UK) »
Please can any one help me. I am currently buying this property and I would like to know anything about it. I believe it belonged to a mill owner in the 1800.

I am very intrigued.

Can anyone help me?

I notice that a Bank House, Haslingden, appears on the Lancashire Paranormal Database  :o

Once you complete the purchase, you should be able to obtain information about previous owners from the Land Registry. The local Record Office may have some interesting records also.

See this thread on History of Houses:

You can search for Baptisms, Marriages, and Burials on Lancashire OPC:

http://www.lan-opc.org.uk/Search/indexp.html

With a quick search I found the Baptisms for Ellen Rawstron in 1851, and Amelia Ann Rawstron in 1852. Thomas's occupation is given as Cotton Manufacturer and address Laneside, Haslingden

Also James Rawstron, son of Thomas and Mary Rostrom in 1844 is likely match.
Thomas was a Manufacturer. Address Alden, Holcombe, Lancashire

William was Baptised in 1844

You can search for post-1837 births, marriages, and deaths on Lancashire BMD:

I'll ask grandma next time I see her. She'll probably know something - she's always lived in haslingden.

Between 1841 and 1911 there were 4 seperate entries for a residence known as Bank House in Haslingden. The 2 mentioned in the earlier census details posted were the one at Laneside and the One "Up Grane". The house in question in the original enquiry was and still is located on Blackburn Road in Haslingden and was in the census for 1891, 1901 and 1911.
