East Fortune RNAS later RAF base WW1
« on: Friday 11 November 11 10:56 GMT (UK) »
Hello Searchers,

your help would be appreciated.
My research is currently
into the history of  WW1 aerodrome  at East Fortune
a base for RNAS later RAF.

Frederick T.J KIRKBY, air mechanic,  had
been posted to Scotland from RN, Tregantle, Cornwall
May 1918 - May 1919

He may have spent some time in hospital at
that location.  Significant clues where the medical
records are archived would be welcome.

many thanks
Jean M

Hello Jean,

Lothian Health Board Archives - these records start from 1922 but info is interesting. Perhaps you have looked at this already/

Hello Mags

the link received is much appreciated.  The National Archives at Kew may hold the records
from WW1. Planning to spend a day there next week.
with renewed thanks

family ACKERS lived in East London, therefore not
a significant link, at least so far!

Hello Jean m
Yes Akers----Akers. Worth a try!
I am unable to be precise on the Archives.Helped by helpful staff but broadly: army/airforce WW1 only took them a minute!
Would like to see your photographs.
