Hi.

I made a mistake with my previous postings for which I apologise.

Joseph Hardy m. Mary Ann Pollard 17/7/1805 at Newark. A Joseph was born there c. 1780 so this could be him. Any help would be fantastic.

Cheers,

Gary.

Marriage Newark, 17-7-1806 ( not 1805 ) Joseph Hardy and Mary Ann Pollard.
Baptisms Newark
22-4-1814 Henry son of Joseph and Mariann Hardy abode Newark father a weaver.
31-12 1818 Sarah same details father a carpet weaver
3-9-1810 William
23-3-1812 Eliza
30-9-1807 Marianne
13-3-1809 Ann possible burial Newark 27-9-1813 aged 3 years.

There is a Joseph Hardy weaver on Millgate Newark on the 1841 census. With wife Mary he was born abt 1786. Their 20 year old daughter Sarah is with them.
Then 2 possible burials in Newark
20-2-1849 Joseph Hardy age 65
8-10-1852 Mary Ann Hardy age 74

I do not have a Joseph Hardy baptised in Newark C 1780.
The burial of Joseph Hardy ,above ,in 1849 states he was aged 65, making his baptism around 1784. On the 1841 census he is listed as being born around 1786, we know the 1841 census was iffy on ages. The only baptism for a Joseph that fits this date range is at Elston, which is also the nearest to Newark.
Birth 15-1-1788 baptised 20-1-1788 Joseph son of Joseph and Jane HARDEY
With a possible marriage for this couple being also at Elston.
2-8-1784 Joseph Hardy and Jane Andrews.

Hi.

Thanks very much for that. Elston is part of the Newark Wapentake & only 5 miles from there.  Jane Andrews was b.c. 1763 at Elston & Joseph c. 1759 but no idea where.

Cheers,

Gary.
