Is this the town of Shannonbridge in Co. Offaly ?

Do you have any names and dates etc ?

Given the timeframe you have mentioned, I think a good place to start might be the 1901 and 1911 census - see : http://census.nationalarchives.ie/

and : Introduction to Irish Records

there are 6 people with the surname Synnott in Shannonbridge town on the 1911 census - in two households :

Synnott -1 : Ellen (a widow), and her three children

Synnott - 2 : 2 Synnott children living with their grandparents

I dont think that Ancesrty has any Irish census records. The two complete census details (i.e. 1901 and 1911) are only available on the National Archives of Ireland website - see link above.

Here's Ellen (surname spelt Synott) with the two elder daughter's  on the 1901 return. She is living with the same Henry family (Kieran & Teresa) as two of the Synnott children on the 1911 return. She is listed as their 'step-daughter'

see : Henry / Synott / Coleman / Ward / Moore household

No sign of her husband, but she is apparently married to a Stonecutter.

Shannonbridge is (I think from searching) in Parsonstown (Birr) registration district.

Marriage indexes has a Michael Synnott 1896 and amongst the  possible spouses are Ellen Doran and Ellen Loughnane.  None of these names fit with Coleman which is the name of the other stepchildren  :-\

....

possible birth for Michael from the BMD Index - a cert would probably help if he fits this family - e.g. if father's occupation is a Stonecutter..

  Name: Michael Synott
  Registration district:   Birr
  Event type: Birth
  Quarter and year: Jan-Mar 1908
  Volume :   3 / Page: 288

see :
  Ordering Certs from GRO Roscommon
Details included on a Birth Cert
