amos emmanuel ford

looking for info or advice, amos emmanuel ford reputed to have come from the west indies married to susan trapp, possibly born approx 1900, i got his name from his sons ( born 1920 ) marriage certificate in gretna, dumfriesshire, scotland 1946

Did he marry Susan in Scotland?  If so - the marriage cert will give his parents names

If he died in Scotland - same info will be on his death cert

cant find any evidence of him marrying in scotland or even in britain, he,s a bit of a mystery, also cant find susan trapp, the only evidence i have of him is his name and occupation ( farmer ) on his sons wedding cert

Was his son born in Scotland or elsewhere?

have not found a birth anywhere for his son in britain, have found his sons wife( who was born and lived in kirkudbright ) and traced her mothers family back to 1700 s but am stuck on amos.

Start with getting more information about the son - he might have come over to Scotland during or just after WWII.
What was the son's occupation on the marriage certificate?

the sons occupation was sawmill labourer
