Migrant ships SA: HURST/ Lady Emma
« on: Tuesday 15 November 11 03:03 GMT (UK) »
If anyone has the book "Migrant ships for south Australia 1836-1860"by Ronald Parsons, can you look something up for me?

Information on Thomas Hurst and Family on Lady Emma 1837
Also if there was information on a William Skelly/ Skilley/ Skelley/ Skaelly who may have boarded in Tasmania.
Family verbal history suggests they met on the Lady Emma, but William was not on the Passenger list I have linked below

This site http://www.slsa.sa.gov.au/fh/passengerlists/1837LadyEmma.htm says there is further information in the Book "migrant ships for south Australia 1836-1860" by ronald Parsons.
It is held in the Library's historical collection so they won't send it out to the regions, and if there is no information 300km to  the Library is a bit far!
If anyone has this book and could tell me if there is any helpful information in it I would greatly appreciate it.
Cheers
Sally

http/bound-for-south-australia.collections.slsa.sa.gov.au/ShipLists%20Alpha%20by%20Year/1837A-M.htm

Lady Emma from Gravesend: Thomas Hurst, wife , 3 sons , daughter. Also Sarah Hurst and Mary Hurst

Can't see any reference to Skelly etc on this voyage.  Your link didn't work for me so used the above link which gives every ship in to South Australia.

SLSA is very good. They will do the lookup for you.
