Tracing Michael Gordon
« on: Saturday 19 November 11 13:53 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to trace family on my Mothers side, the Gordons. In particular a Michael Gordon. He was my Grandfathers older brother .He was born in Co.Monaghan Ireland in 1893,the eldest of a large family.Through family stories i heard that he was well educated and was possibly in Belgium in the 1930s.He was also supposed to have worked for the British Government.

Is this the family in 1901?

If so, this could be Michael as a student in 1911-

By 1911 there are other siblings but Michael's mother has died-

Death: Mary Rebecca Gordon, age 41, Apr./June 1910 Clones registration district, volume 3 page 79.
Possibly her daughter Maureen- Birth: Mary Rebecca Gordon, Jan./Mar.1902 Clones registration district, volume 3 page 91.

Since you posted the topic on the Monaghan board it seemed as though you were looking for details of his life there  :-\

Since that's not the case, I'll move this to Beginner's board for now.

Further addition to this search .Came across a picture of Michael Gordon in Blackpool in July 1944.His wifes name is Kathleen, she died in 1950.The picture also shows their two children, boy and girl. Will not mention names as one or both may still be alive. The boy is about 4 or 5 and the girl about 9 or 10.Not in possession of photo at the moment. Also a possibility that Michaels son joined R.A.F. around1958.
