Gawcott Marriages - COMPLETED
« on: Sunday 20 November 11 18:46 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Having just purchased the Gawcott PRs 1807-1901 on CD, I was pleased to find the 1807 baptism there I required. My problem now is that the CD also states, "no marriages were recorded in Gawcott".

Am 90% sure the mother was also born there. My question is, "does any one have local knowledge as to where residents of Gawcott would have married?"

The marriage I need is John GUNTHORPE and Hannah ?. There is an IGI entry, but am not convinced about that one.

Thanks

Geoff

Hi Geoff,

If you look at this page on the Genuki site:

http://met.open.ac.uk/genuki/big/eng/BKM/Buckingham/index.html#ChurchHistory

it would seem that, before 1806, Gawcott was included in the parish of St Peter & St Paul, Buckingham.

HELP!!!

 BATHSHEBA BOOTHROYD bn c. 1802 W. Yorks.

Baptism nowhere to be found. Possibly in a nonconformist church near ALMONDBURY or HUDDERSFIELD.
