I don't know if anyone is still researching the Brunton family but if so you might like to know that there is a small write up and photo of Captain Joseph Brunton of Whitley Bay, a rugby play who was given a bar to his Military Cross .. this is in the Illustrated Chronicle, page 9, Monday January 1, 1917 kept at Newcastle City library.
