Thank you so much Trish1120 and Seoras for the information.  It is confusing with the Mary/Mercy name.  The information regarding the ship is very interesting too.

Ros

There have been several ships named Nautilus. But if it was Royal Navy, the one in 1840 was a 10 gun Cherokee-class brig sloop. Launched in 1830 and scrapped in 1878.

With respect. I think you will find that the Commander of HMS NAUTILUS from her commissioning in March 1830 until she was paid off, was Commander (later Admiral) Lord George Paulet.
He was succeeded by Lieutenant Commander William Crooke from 03/01/1834.
My guess is Richard Harry was the Master of a merchant vessel.

Hello, I am Thomas Richard Harry, son of Raymond Francis Harry and grandson of Cecil Harry who was born in Ashton England who moved to Canada in 1922 when he was 16 along with two of his brothers.  I am looking to connect with the Harry family in the UK.  Cecil had at least one other sister who stayed in Ashton UK.  My grandfather Cecil use to tell us his father was a minister.  One of my grandfathers brothers was named William and when by Bill who was older than Cecil and came to Canada on the same boat in 1922 with another brother, but I don't know the other brothers name.  Asher Ashton Cornwall England was written on a post card if that is of any help tracking this info.
