Thomas and Elizabeth Dykes. m 1771 looking for children
« on: Wednesday 23 November 11 07:35 GMT (UK) »
Thomas  and Elizabeth Dykes married at St. James Church Audlem on 31 December 1771.  Can someone kindly look up to see if they had any other children apart from John born Whittingborough Cheshire in 1782.  With an 11 year gap, there surely must be some siblings?  Any descendants or close relative descendants of Thomas Dykes Family of Cheshire, happy to contact.  Cheers Ann ???

Hi Ann,

The Audlem parish records are available free at: http://www.csc.liv.ac.uk/~cprdb/

There is another child, Joseph baptised in 1780 but it shows the father as John - I suspect it may be a transcription error as there are no other families baptising children in Audlem in the same time frame.

just to add the record says 19th may  1782  John  to thomas & elizabeth Dykes; there is also a record of a  John born to a John & Elizabeth in 1778

Thanks junev, I'd completely missed that.

So it's more likely that there are 2 families and Joseph is not a child of Thomas & Elizabeth.

Can I thank each and every one of you for your assistance with the Dykes children.
I now have a starting point in looking for the rest of the family and who knows I may even find I still have a distant relative in the UK.  I know most of you are much more experienced than I am and I send good wishes to all of you in whatever project you are tackling at the moment.  Cheers from Australia Ann ::)
