hi Orielbenfro  :)

While searching through Rootschat for the surname Purgavie I found a match in one of your threads
Purgavie would seem to be a rare surname and as far as I know there is only one line which started
off in Perthshire Scotland

Here is my known information reference to the surname Purgavie from my database on Pembrokeshire related military headstones of 1722 to 2008
Captain James Stewart Purgavie
Headstone reads 158204 9th Batt The Kings Own Scottish Borderers 28th April 1942 aged 29
C.W.G.C. website entry adds the son of James Duncan Gilbert Purgavie and Maud Annie Purgavie husband of Rhona Purgavie of Ashbourne Derbyshire
Headstone Location Pembroke Dock Military Cemetery between 16b and 16r (see my notes & jpeg held if required)
My research One of 19 killed whilst attending a lecture on a new type of mine in the Defensible Barracks Pembroke Dock. The new type mine on the lecture table was live. The largest loss of life in a single incident. It is believed the only map of where the new type mines where laid was also lost in the explosion. Home address at the time of the accident is 13 Station Street Ashbourne Derby. I have all names and background research on most others. I believe the explosion took place in a confined cellar converted lecture room, some unnamed naafi staff where also injured in accident
Additional Info You can often see postcards of Defensible Barracks just as it looked in 1942 for sale on auction web sites for  around 99p. It is private residences now but if you wish to still see as it was be quick, it has been sold to turn into 'luxury' flats, yet another of Pembroke Historic buildings sold off for private venture.

Any additional info p.o.b. and d.o.b. etc etc would be appreicated.

Parents James Gamack Duncan Purgavie.............Maude Annie Rance.
The main point you make is the corrected name of the father. Not for the 1st (nor by any means the last) time there is a noted difference of opinion between what the CWGC website state and what researchers find.

Yet another warning for those who depend solely on the CWGC for their war memorial websites.

I have placed a note in my database accordingly.

Hi, I have become interested in tracing my family history since I moved to Scotland. My mothers name is Purgavie and I know we have roots in Scotland. Just come accross this and seen your family tree EV. James Stewart Purgavie and Rhona Gettliffe are my great grandparents.
